sewing again

I've been trying to make a little time for sewing the last few days.  A little bit here and there and I've been able to accomplish small projects.  Here is one finished...

and one in progress. 

I am actually working on a few of these kitties.  I think I'll name this one Argyle.  If I can get them together, they will be at my next craft show in a couple weeks.

The girls asked if they could splatter paint outside this afternoon.  Addie woke up just as they were getting started.  So, while I cleaned the kitchen and prepped dinner this is what they did...

"Mom, I need to wash my hands!"

We made a quick trip up to Maryland for my B-I-L's 50th birthday party.  My sister pulled off an amazing surprise party that I took absolutely no pictures of!  I guess that's just what happens when you've got a cute little baby in your arms- no room for the camera :)   Anyway, we had a good time visiting with family for a brief 24 hours.

And because how could I not share this cuteness with you...

craft show season has begun!

I am wanting to blog more, but right now life is just not allowing it!  Hopefully things will settle into a routine and I will be here more soon!

11!

Regan turned 11 yesterday.  We are getting scary close to having a teenager in the house!  Time is flying by so fast.  Life is a bit crazy around here these days, and out of the few pictures I got yesterday most involve Regan making a goofy face... she's gonna love me for posting this one :)

Last year she begged me all winter to buy her more jeggings every time we were in Target.  Grammy got her two new pair... I wish I looked as cute as she does in jeggings :)

After lunch we picked up a couple friends and headed to the bowling alley for their homeschool open house.  I forgot my camera, so these phone photos are a bit blurry.

Addie loved it- she got excited every time she pushed the ball down the ramp and said "I did it!"

Even Emmy had a good time.

We ended the day with peanut butter ice cream pie, yummy!

Happy Birthday, Regan!

major progress

We spent the long weekend trying to put a big dent in our sub-floor painting experiment (that we started almost a year ago!).

We moved everything from the school/craft/dining room end of the great-room to the "living-room"...

there was a LOT of stuff in that half of the room! 

Sweet Emmaline slept in her swing most of the day :)

We tore out the rest of the carpet and puttied the cracks...

painted the walls (everyone helped with this project)

then primed and painted the sub-floors!  Of course we only painted about 1/3 of the floor...

but we can just look at this picture and pretend the whole room is finished :)

Tomorrow we start moving the furniture back!

happy birthday, max!

Yesterday was Max's 8th birthday!  Saturday, while we were working on a major painting job (more on that in another post), Regan made Max's birthday cake.  It was inspired by a cake in the American Girl magazine and Max chose the final design. 

On Sunday we started our day with donuts and presents...

After church we all went out to Buffalo Wild Wings (Max's requested lunch) where Max downed 7 HOT wings! I forgot my camera :(

We ended the day with Regan's yummy cake!
