It is the second month of the year and Lulu has her second ear infection of 2009 already. We started with the $4 amoxicillin, but now we've moved up to the big leagues with Augmentin at (the negotiated price of) $40! I hope that future ear infections don't mean another 1000% increase!

Ouch! Someone tells me antibiotics are free at Giant foods. Not sure if you even have those by you.
I've just been introduced to your blog and was reading through some past posts when I came upon this one! I hope the super antibiotics cures your child and I wondered if you have heard of using xylitol to prevent ear infections. Since ear infections are strongly linked with learning delays especially in reading, it is worth a try in my opinion - and I have seen it work first hand with a child who suffered chronically with ear infections. Just thought I'd share and give you another option!
