Tagged

I have been tagged by my friend Jen at Planted by Streams. Jen and I met at my home church in Maryland when we were both pregnant with our oldest. Hannah was Regan's first friend and whenever we go home to MD, we are sure to set up a play date!

1. Where have you traveled? I had about a decade of much travel when I was younger and before we had kids. Internationally I have been to Venezuela, Albania, Bulgaria, Mexico, Thailand, Canada, South Africa, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania and Iceland. In the US I have been to most east coast and mid-west states, but have only been to California on the west coast.

2. Where would you like to live? My favorite place in America is the coast of Maine. I would love to live in Winter Harbor or some small coastal town like that. Really, anywhere on the coast of New England would be fine with me. I have also always wanted to live in Europe. Somewhere in a small village where I could walk or ride my bike everywhere I needed to go.
When I stop dreaming, I want to live where ever God plants me, because life is always better when I am following my Father.

3. What is your decorating style? Eclectic for sure. I love cottage style, vintage, bright colors... but most important, comfortable and livable!

4. How many times have your been married? Once, for 8.5 years. Phil and I met at University of Maryland 11 years ago this month. We lived in the same building and both went to InterVarsity. We started dating January 1998 but waited to until we had both graduated before we married in February 2000. 8 years and 4 kids later, I can't imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else!

5. What is your favorite color? I love color. Bright, Pastel, Earth tones... If I had to chose, I would probably say I am most drawn to blues, purples, and brown. But really that seems so limiting, we are big into rainbows in our house :)

6. What is your proudest accomplishment? That is a hard one. So much of my life these days is spent accomplishing small tasks that are immediately undone... A part of my vision statements is "To raise our children to be men and women of Goldy character who are fully equipped to do God's will for their lives in this world." If, by the richness of God's grace, I can do this- it will be my greatest accomplishment.

7. What would we be absolutely shocked to learn about you? I don't have many secrets. I think I lay it all out on the table pretty freely... Here's one that might be surprising, considering the status of our family, but I never really liked kids as a teen/young adult. I didn't really like babysitting or working in the nursery at church. There were a few exceptions, like my nephews and although I am still not crazy about babysitting and working in the nursery, I think the size of our family should tell you I have come around a bit!

Who to tag? How about Deb at As We Walk and my S-I-L, Paula at The Richest Wine.

Oh man...i have to agree. The coast of maine is one of the most beautiful places i have ever been. I wish i was there now. My family has been vacationing in the winter harbor area for nearly 25 years. I know it well.

Leslie,

My family has vacationed in Maine every summer since I was a kid as well! What a small world. Unfortunately I have not been back in many years, but I am hoping that next summer might be the summer we make it up there again!

you know what...that is exactly what we are planning. A big vacation to Maine for the whole family next summer. I miss it when i can not go for long periods of time. I went last summer but that was the first time in 10 years. Wouldn't it be funny if we were there at the same time.
